Hail in Cripple Creek

Yesterday, we went to the old mining of Cripple Creek which is at an elevation of 9,500'. We had never been there and thought it would be a nice day trip. It was sunny and 82 at home, but as we were coming down from the pass into Cripple Creek, it started raining and then hailing like we've never seen before. It felt like the car was getting pelted by golf balls for about 30 minutes, and the temperature dropped sharply to 42 degrees. The hail was piling up on the roads and was very slushy which was challenging to drive through. It was a very neat experience though, and just goes to show you, if you don't like the weather in Colorado...wait 5 minutes.

My very talented wife...

So Meadow just got a new sewing machine and she already has a new creation. This is the reversible purse that she made from scratch. Pretty impressive, huh? I think she should open up a shop.

She still hasn't finished the scarf she started knitting for me when we were still in Chicago, but the weather here is so nice I won't need it for a while. I'll let it slide for now... Stay tuned for more creativity...from her, not me!

Just Another Day...Week...Month

Time flies - I can't believe how much time has gone by since we last wrote. I guess there isn't really much new to report. Life is good. We still love our new home. This past weekend we realized that we have only been here for just over two months. Can you believe that? It seems like we've been in the house for a long time now. I guess that's good because we feel very comfortable here. We still have some decorating to do, but I find that neither of us really has much decorating sense....as much as I try and would love to! Colorado is still wonderful. Unfortunately, between the new house and work, we don't find as much time as we would like to get to the mountains to enjoy nature. But every day I do love to look at the mountains and it makes my commute much more enjoyable.

The cats are growing like weeds. They never stop and are constantly getting into something. It's like having kids (I would imagine)! If anything, having the kittens have mellowed Sophie out a bit though which is certainly a nice treat.

So all in all, we can't complain one bit. Hope you are all doing well. We miss you and would love for you to move here...OK, you can just visit if that's easier to handle :-)

Take care!
