Picture if you will the scene from The Wizard of Oz as the Wicked Witch of the west rides along on her bike. The wind whipping around as the tornado gets closer and closer. The music intensifies...
OK, so our ride was nothing like that, but it was still exciting! And contrary to what some of you are thinking, we are still alive and did make it through the bike ride. Amazingly, we're still in one piece too. Here's the brief recap that we promised you:
Two beautiful Colorado days....
Two people who didn't think they could make it
Two flat tires (both Meadow's)
One Colorado State dorm room and a good night's rest
One bad sunburn (Corey didn't put his sunscreen on)
Two falls on the last day (one for each of us)
Countless hills (ouch)
148.77 miles
Two extremely happy people who actually made it through the finish line!

So Corey works for a GREAT company that has a bunch of different clubs. One of those clubs is a bicycling club which of course we naturally thought we should join. So far, I have still never met anyone from the club, but they have signed us up for a few different rides. The rides sounded like a good idea at the time....months ago, but now the first ride is this weekend and we are so not prepared. This weekend's ride is a two day approximately 150 mile ride from Denver, CO up to Fort Collins, CO and back the next day. That's a long drive in a car and we're going to ride our bikes?! Since we just moved, we really haven't had much time to get any long rides in...in fact, the longest ride we have done all year is probably around 20 miles (if even). If you never hear from us again just know that we did not survive this weekend. However, if we survive, we'll give you a fun little recap next week. Have a great weekend!

Veggie Tales...
We thought we'd try our hand (or green thumb) at a small vegetable garden in our back yard. We planted a few tomato, bell pepper and jalapeno plants and they seem to be taking off nicely. I'm thinking of getting a combine to harvest the yield...
